Music with Mark:
Feel it Comin’ On was one of the first that i wrote when i got my new amp, a Vox AC30. When i composed it, i was instantly proud of it. Typically, when i am in love with my own song, no one else is, and i have to wait to find a vocalist for it. Not this time, Rock went at it like a beast. Everything about this song is big. The guitars, the drums, the thundering bass, and esp the epic rock (and Rock) vocals. It’s certainly one of my favorites on the album, and if it wasn’t for the ABCD structure it could probably be pushed as a single. In a lot of ways, this is just the latest in a long line of Homages to my favorite guitarist, Gareth Prosser, from this 90’s band called Fat.
Chatter with Rock:
I often go to bed with music playing all night long, on this one particular night I just put all of Mark's songs on a loop and went off to la la land. I awoke at 5 AM with the chorus to this song stuck perfectly in my head... My adrenaline rushed immediately, so I went out to the studio and started singing it at 5AM... 5 AM!!! And I wonder why people think I'm a lunatic... anyway, this song was a bitch to record and I actually made a trip down to get Mark to record the vocals with me as I was not getting the performance I wanted on my own. Eventually through his piles of patience we finally got the track and I really can't wait to do this one live.
Lyrically... "Life makes you smile when it's where you're supposed to be"~ That's pretty much it, being comfortable honest with what makes you happy. Too
often we get wrapped up in what everyone else wants us to be, or trying to keep up with the Jones... screw that.
lyrics
Haven't you heard
A single word you said
Annoyed with the notion
And shallow life you've led
Hey, hey, hey, hey yeah
Whoa
I'm not what you think
But you say to
Stand up straight in line
Hear it all the time
That's your rule, not mine
Your friends ain't friends of mine
Not fighting all the time
When my way works just fine
Life makes you smile when
It's where you're supposed to be
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Love only matters
When it's given free
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Haven't you heard
It's the me revolution
Gonna spread the word
To become offend the rules
Hey, hey, hey, hey yeah
Whoa
I'm not what you think
But you say to
Stand up straight in line
Hear it all the time
That's your rule, not mine
Your friends ain't friends of mine
Not fighting all the time
When my way works just fine
Life makes you smile when
You're where you supposed to be
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Love only matters
When it's given free
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Hey, hey, hey, hey yeah
Whoa
I'm not what you think
What's your secret sign
Solo
Stand up straight in line
Hear it all the time
That's your rule, not mine
Your friends ain't friends of mine
Not fighting all the time
When my way works just fine
Life makes you smile when
You're where you supposed to be
Can you feel it coming on
Love only matters
When it's given free
Can you feel it coming on...
Life makes you smile
You're where you supposed to be
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Love only matters
When it's given free
Can you feel it coming on
Can you feel it coming on
Haven't you heard
Love this life
Haven't you heard
