Music With Mark
Rock keeps saying this is his favorite song. I just don't get it! It sat around in my discard pile for seven years before i dusted it off again. Hell, i didn't even re-record it until he wrote lyrics. The buzz saw guitars are a nod to a friend of mine back then who was in a punk band. He used the technique in a few of his tunes. I liked the sound so i gave it a go with my own touches. I ripped the little pre-chorus bits off from somewhere, i forget. The chorus is all me though...straight 4/4 8th note power chords. mmhmm, technical! The solo is copied from a Sense Field tune called No Medicine. But y'know, even after all that nonsense i am still quite pleased with this track. I'm a sucker for punk, and punk influenced rock, I am happy that we gave it a go. We also have a B-Side called 'From Me' in a similar vein. Maybe we'll pair them up for the live show.

Chatter With Rock
Yeah so this is totally my favorite tune on the disk, I just love the energy!! Anyone who has seen me in front of a band will totally get why I am drawn to this tune :) Plus it gets me in a mind set where I'm trying to get into the head space of someone else, like acting... Usually I write about my own experience, this was a nice, though morbid, change of pace.

Lyrically I was watching one of those crime drama shows one day and there was a story line about a husband who caught wind that his wife was going to leave him so he went postal. Even though his relationship was completely miserable he couldn't take the thought of her not being his... so pulled the old homicide/suicide trick and voila I have a song. People are messed.
